Bangsar Babe: Bloggers Choice Awards - Burger Bobby Simpang 3

It's that time of the year again...for the Time Out KL Food Awards! This year, TOKL is allowing bloggers to recommend their favourite eating places in the new Bloggers Choice Awards category. I'm nominating Burger Bobby Simpang 3 (better known as Bob Burger) for this category.

Voting starts this Friday, September 23, 2011 at 9am. To be fair, you are not allowed to vote multiple times a day. But you can vote once a day. If you're a fan of Bob's burgers and want to see him win this category, please vote for him every day! Bobby Burger for the win!! :)

Here's a short intro to Burger Bobby:

Ramly burger isn’t as simple as two buns and a patty. Over the last decade or so, almost all Ramly burgers have been improvised. As a burger lover, I’ve tried all kinds of burgers – special cheese, special double cheese, crab burger, banjo double special cheese, deer meat burger, green apple burger, pineapple burger, black pepper burger; you name it, I’ve probably tried it.

To me, Burger Bobby deserves a place in the Top 5 Best Ramly Burgers in Malaysia. The man behind this stall is Bob, who has been making burgers in front of his house for the past 7 years. Like another famous burger stall in Ampang Jaya, expect to wait for a good 30 minutes if there are many customers. When I found Bob’s stall, the queue wasn’t as long as it is today. Bob jokes that it’s my fault for promoting it to my readers, but I feel that good things should be shared with everyone.

There are a range of patties for you to choose from – chicken, beef, rabbit, deer and fish. All patties are pan-fried with pepper and Worchester sauce before getting wrapped with egg and cheese. Besides making his own special sauces, Bob goes the extra mile by stir-frying the onion slices with butter and Worchester sauce.

Don't just look...try it. And remember to vote!

His burgers (whichever you choose) are big, messy and utterly delicious. Popular choices are the lamb tiesto, ayam double special cheese and roti john special. Go there with a big appetite and tissue paper….lot of them!
